Fishing (and Swimming) All Year Round
Roy's The Zancudo Lodge, nestled in the warm and breezy Golfito Bay area of the Pacific Ocean, is considered the leading fishing lodge in Costa Rica. And it has proven success with over 50 world records under its belt. There is fishing all year round with Sailfish season December through May and Snook season May through September. Marlins, Roosterfish, Snapper, Dorado, Yellow Fin Tuna, Big Eye Tuna, Jack Crevelle, Amber Jack & Grouper are always available. Other species caught there include Dorado, Wahoo, Yellow Fin Tuna, Big Eye Tuna, Blue Fin Treuelly, Jack Crevelle, Corvina, Amberjack, Triple Tail, Rainbow Runner, Grouper, Red &Yellow Snapper, Barracuda, Rooster, Permit, Pompano and Sierra Mackerel. The lodge is closed in October for maintenance.
Roy's The Zancudo Lodge has a fleet of 10, 25' center console boats; with twin Suzuki 115hp four stoke engines. The boats are safe, comfortable, and equipped with outriggers, depth finders, and radios. Some claim that the secret to Roy's fishing success is due to persistent, competitive boat captains and a wide variety of high quality light tackle. (The lodge furnishes all tackle and lures. Fly rods for sailfish for those who do not have big enough equipment for the billfish are also furnished at no extra charge.) Spare motors and boats are always available to keep the action constant.
