History
San Pablo became a canton in 1960. There is a large quantity of archeological evidence of Huetar Indians who once inhabitied the area. The first chapel was built in 1863 and is an historical landmark.
General Description
It is drained by the rivers Bermúdez, Quebrada Seca and Pirro. Coffee and cattle are the main agricultural products.
Interesting Sites
Within San Pablo are the townships of Cruces, Uriches and La Puebla.
