Protected Area Río Tiribí

It protects a few forest remnants of a small part of the middle course of this river. The forest is of the lower montane wet forest life zone. The waters of the Tiribi are used for drinking water, irrigation and generating hydroelectric power although, as it passes through San José, the river becomes polluted. Some dirt tracks from Dulce Nombre de Tres Rios allow one to go a little way into this protection zone.
