It is located on the outskirts of Nicoya City and is made up of remnants of dry forest, secondary forest, shrub and grassland. It protects several hydrographic basins and is a recreation site for city dwellers, associated with Pre-Columbian and religious traditions. An earth road leaves the outskirts of Nicoya and leads to the top of the hill.
