Identification:

Mid-sized, heavy-Iooking, black and white bird with biggish head and thick, black bill; white forehead, throat, and belly; black bar across chest; black on top of head; black wings and tail; to 25cm (10in). (Buco Collarejo).

Habitat:

Low elevation forests, Caribbean and Pacific slopes; found in tree canopy in more open sites such as forest edges, clearings, along waterways.

Caño Negro National Wildlife Refuge.
