The country decided to orient its efforts to a macro development project in the industrial and production sectors toward the achievement of greater exports. In the same manner, the development of input industries, semi manufactured goods, capital goods, and agro industrial products have been strongly supported in view of their comparative advantages. At the present moment, there is an institutional and legal structure that includes a series of investment stimulus geared toward the use of our natural resources that increase exports.
Even though Costa Rica is still a banana and coffee producer, it has strived to diversify its agricultural production.
