Pavones Beach, in the Southern Pacific Region of Puntarenas. Tis a long drive from San José (400 km) to get there. Calculate about 8 hours or so because you'll have to take a small ferry. We don't have much general information or pictures about this beach yet. But you can find here some surf info about surfing conditions and breaks. See Surfing Info.

Information for Surfers:
The excellent left point is considered one of the longest in the world. It has a very good shape and is fast. Out on the peninsula Osa across from Pavones, about half an hour boat ride away, there you will be able to find world-class right points in Playa Matapalo. Driving about 9 km south from Pavones, you'll find the beach called Punta Banco. If you want to stay here, look up a hotel in Pavones. It has scattered beach and reef breaks. Not the best form but a good alternative if you are staying in Pavones and want to get away from the crowd for a while. If you are interested in nature don't miss to visit Tiskita Jungle Lodge, or maybe even stay there.
